GLØD Explorer

Small-group Northern Lights hunts with photographer-guides, alongside Arctic outdoor adventures and accommodation in Alta.

About GLØD Explorer

GLØD Explorer combines outdoor experiences and accommodation in Alta with photography-focused Northern Lights chasing. Its guides use local knowledge and changing cloud conditions to choose a route towards promising skies, whether along the coast or inland. Small groups allow time for camera advice and viewing stops. Warm refreshments, thermal clothing when needed and guide photographs are part of the experience, but aurora sightings and aurora photographs always depend on conditions.

Warm drinks and snacks are provided, together with thermal suits and overshoes if needed. Guide-taken photographs are shared after the trip; photographs featuring the aurora depend on the conditions. The experience lasts around four to four and a half hours, and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
